AsMA disclaims any liability to any party for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any AsMA content or other material or for any damages arising out of the use or nonuse of any AsMA content.
The AsMA is pleased to grant permission to use or reproduce copyrighted material in accordance with our current guidelines. In some cases, fees are applicable. This page describes our guidelines and the process for requesting permission.
Fair Use
Content on the AsMA website is copyrighted. You may print materials from the AsMA website for non-profit, educational purposes only, under the principle of fair use as defined by the U.S. Copyright Office. The use of embedded third-party copyrighted works, or portions thereof, for any other purpose is not deemed fair use. Proper attribution, including a notice of copyright, must be included on all copies.
Commercial and Other Uses
If you would like to reproduce, reprint, or adapt content from the website, for any purposes other than those listed above, you must seek permission from the Managing Editor’s office. You will be asked to provide the following details and sign a licensing agreement:
- Full description and citation for copyrighted material included in the request
- Details of intended use: one-time, perpetual, defined term, etc.
Name and contact information for the licensee requesting permission
Linking
The AsMA has no objection to links from other websites to content on AsMA websites as long as the following guidelines are followed:
- AsMA content may not be downloaded to another Web server, displayed, or reproduced by any other means in any other format;
- AsMA content may not be framed, “locked”, or “trapped” within any borders, banners, or other visual images other than those placed by AsMA itself;
- Links should be external ones in that AsMA’s URL is visible in the address window;
- Plain text should be used to indicate the link. Use of AsMA’s logo is prohibited without written consent from AsMA;
- The requester should confirm the link by providing AsMA with the requester’s URL and location of the link to the AsMA content for AsMA’s file-tracking purposes;
- Links should not be presented in such a way that they may be perceived as a sign of AsMA’s endorsement of any company, product, or service;
- A request should be submitted in writing (via mail, fax, email). See above for information required on all permission requests.
