Norwich University Board Elects New President

The Board of Trustees at Norwich University announced that Lt. Gen. John Broadmeadow, USMC (Ret.), was elected as the University’s President in late April.

He transitioned from the Board of Trustees to his new position at the beginning of May. This marks the first time in decades that an alumnus of the school (class of 1983) is President. Upon his promotion to Lt. Gen., John Broadmeadow became the highest-ranking Marine officer to ever graduate from the University. Now, he becomes the first Marine to take the mantle of president and the highest-ranking officer to be named president in Norwich University’s history. He will bring a unique and fresh perspective to Norwich and the senior military college community. As an alumnus, USMC officer, and civilian taking on broad roles in higher education, he has the skills and experience that a Norwich president requires along with a vision for the University’s success.
