The Mary T. Klinker Award is given annually to recognize significant contributions to, or achievements in the field of aeromedical evacuation. It is sponsored by ZOLL Medical Corporation.

Robert Haddon, M.D., MS, FAsMA, is the 2026 recipient of the Mary T. Klinker Award in recognition of his efforts in ensuring care of astronauts who have suffered medical events. He was the lead of the medical investigation in 2024 when a crewmember suffered a medical event after splashdown and in 2026 was instrumental in developing a successful return plan when the decision to bring International Space Station (ISS) crew home early due to a medical event was made. An enormous amount of risk mitigation, contingency planning, and coordination across NASA, SpaceX, and partners were involved. Dr. Haddon tirelessly lead his team during this time, leaving no stone unturned, considering all aspects of preflight, in-flight, and postflight care.
