The Won Chuel Kay Award is presented for outstanding contributions to international aerospace medicine. It is sponsored by the Korean Aerospace Medical Association.

Sally A. Evans, MBE, MBBS, FRCP, FFOM, D.Av.Med., FAsMA, FRAeS, is the 2026 recipient of the Won Chuel Kay Award. She is being honored for sustained excellence in her contributions to International Aerospace Medicine from the frontline as Chief Medical Officer (CAA UK), and her long engagement in the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine. She has been a key person in the reinforcement and guidance of the Academy Scholarship Sub-Committee to provide Annual Scholarships that enable free access to the best training/tuition in Aerospace Medicine to those selected candidates from regions of the world where Aviation Medicine needs to be developed and enhanced. In addition, she is fully engaged in the tutorship program of the Academy for Affiliates who want to pursue a more professional pathway in Aviation Medicine at national and international levels. As CMO of CAA-UK, she played a leading role as chair of the EASA CMO Forum in order to support EASA in the oversight, certification, and organizational procedures related to commercial and non-commercial licensing plus navigation and air traffic control. She is a globally respected authority whose operational insight, scientific rigor, mentorship, and educational influence have directly strengthened aerospace medicine’s contribution to training and education, expertise, safety, and human performance across continents.
