The 2027 Aerospace Medical Association and Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting will be held at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas, TX, United States, May 23-27, 2027. This year’s theme is “Interdisciplinary. International. Innovative.”

In our fields, “medicine” is a broad term as challenges related to humans in aerospace, undersea, and hyperbaric environments require a wide range of expertise. Physiology, psychology, human factors, occupational health, technical expertise, and physics are just a few fields which, in addition to medicine, are necessary to understand and conquer the challenges we face in human flight, undersea/hyperbaric operations, and space missions. As no human can possess deep understanding of all these areas, interdisciplinary integration is needed to a greater degree than for perhaps any other type of human endeavor.

Escaping a sunken submarine, returning to the moon, or ejection from a military fast jet are good examples of situations in our field that demand an interdisciplinary approach. More common examples include safe air travel or helicopter search-and-rescue operations. The challenges of human operations in these extreme environments are not limited by borders, they are global—even interplanetary. New boundaries also need new solutions: innovation is intrinsic. This is why the AsMA-UHMS Annual Scientific Meeting is unique, full of enthusiasm, and a forum where everyone has something to learn. We invite you to submit an abstract and be an active part of this event!

The abstract submission website will open around October 1, 2026. The deadline will be December 16, 2026, 3:59 PM EST. Since we are launching a new submission platform this year, we strongly recommend starting your submission early and communicating any questions or technical difficulties with the Scientific Program Committee ([email protected]) as soon as possible.

Notices of acceptance will be sent by January 31, 2027, 5:00 PM EST. Regardless of whether you will be presenting this year, we hope to see you in Dallas!
