Gabrielle M. Caswell, B.Sc., BA, B.Sc., M.B.B.S., MST Arts, MST History, MST Medicine, Dip. Derm., was interviewed for several press releases in March and April. In a March 23 press release from Spaceport Australia, she was quoted on Spaceport Australia’s announced partnership with The Chameleon Consulting Firm. She discusses the benefits of the partnership and talks about how humans in space, like those who live in a rural area, will need to be autonomous as they will not be able to be dependent on Earth. A few days later, on March 26, she was quoted in a press release, also from Spaceport Australia regarding a partnership with Arkisys. In this press release, she talks about remote health care in space and how more will need to be done with less as there will be limited tools and support. Then, in early April, she was quoted in a press release from Spaceport Australia announcing a partnership with STEM Innovation Council. This partnership is aimed at advancing space education and improving STEM retention in 12-16 year olds. Finally, at the beginning of April Dr. Caswell accepted nominations for 8 of 14 Australian Space Awards. To read these releases, please visit https://www.spaceportaustralia.com.au/press-release/.
