The Aerospace Medical Association Turns 100 Years Old in 2029!

We are forming an ad hoc committee to plan AsMA’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. This great event will occur in 2029 and, if all goes as planned, will be held at a Marriott hotel in Philadelphia, PA.

Looking Back

A compilation of highlights from AsMA’s first 50 years was also published in the Blue Journal, then called Aviation, Space, and Environmental Medicine.

AsMA’s 50th Anniversary celebration was held in Washington, D.C., in 1979. Festivities included Dr. Robert Benford taking a balloon ride to simulate the famous flight of Dr. John Jeffries over the English Channel in 1784.

Want to Help?

If you are an AsMA member and interested in supporting the 100-Year Anniversary Ad Hoc Committee, let us know as soon as possible. Visit the Staff page for contact information.

Whether you’re part of the committee, presenting research, or attending for professional development opportunities, we hope you’ll join us at the Annual Scientific Meeting in 2029.

We look forward to an exciting celebration of AsMA’s past, present, and future contributions to the art and science of aerospace medicine.
