SRL is a city-shaping infrastructure project that will transform how people live and move around Melbourne. The 90-km orbital rail line will connect every major train line, link key precincts, and support vibrant communities. SRL East, the first stage, will deliver 26 km of twin underground tunnels and six new stations between Cheltenham and Box Hill, enabling 70,000 new homes near public transport, jobs, schools, and services. It will create diverse, accessible communities shaped by local input. The Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP DEC, WSP, and KBR, will deliver The Linewide package of works, which includes tunnel fit-outs, rolling stock, and construction of depot and maintenance facilities.
